To the Citizens of Pickens County,

I wish to express my deepest appreciation to the people of Pickens County who supported our Sheriff’s Campaign in any way, whether it was with their prayers, time, effort, finances - or vote.  I will never be able to say “Thank You” enough, nor clearly express how deeply my gratitude is felt.

I am extremely proud of every supporter of our campaign.  We have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.  We can all take pride in knowing that every moment of this campaign was conducted with complete dignity, class and honor.

This has been a tremendous experience.  It has revealed who my truest friends are, and it has given me the opportunity to meet many wonderful people that I am now honored to also call “friend”.  My family and I realize and appreciate that we are truly blessed with dear and loyal friends.

I would like to express a very special thank you to my family.  Unless you have ever run for public office, there is no way to fully understand the stress and demands that are placed on the candidate’s family.  Without their support and understanding, I would not be where I am today.

I would like to congratulate Donnie, and I will continue to keep him and his family in my prayers.

Although I am disappointed that I have not been given the opportunity to help our community as your Sheriff, I feel that I’m a better person for having gone through this experience, and I have been humbled and honored by the kind words that have been extended to me and my family, following the election.
