Welcome to the official homepage of the campaign to elect Joe Terrell as the next Village President of Machesney Park.

I am excited!! The time has come to prepare for the 2009 Village President election!!!

Of the issues facing Machesney Park, I believe the number one issue on the agenda must be Character. Character is defined as the stable and distinctive qualities build into an individual's life which determine his response regardless of circumstance. Character transcends race, religion, education, position, gender, and personality. Character is the inward motivation to do what is right - even when no one is watching.

I believe Character applies not only to the individual, but also to the community. An old adage states, "America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, she will cease to be great." However "goodness" is a product of "Character." Only through a solid, moral Character can any community claim to be "good." My goal for Machesney Park it to become a "Village of Character." Throughout my campaign and my tenure as Village President, I will continuously seek ways to help Machesney Park develop as a Village of Character.
