I want to congratulate Congressman Moran on his win tonight. 

I especially want to thank those who came out to support me in my endeavor to make the 8th District a better place.  To those of you who signed my petitions, who visited farmers markets, metros, and walked the District and supported me in so many other ways, and to those of you who voted for me in 100 degree heat, I can never thank you enough.  The ideas espoused in my campaign did not suffer defeat. They will continue to be discussed.  I have no intention of fading into the woodwork.  I will continue to be active in the public life of our Commonwealth and country.  I look forward to helping turn Virginia Blue and electing Barack Obama President of the United States this fall.
