Larry  Border, Minority Whip, is currently serving his nineth term in the West Virginia House of Delegates representing the 9th Delegate District. This district includes all of Wirt County and the rural, southeastern portion of Wood County, where he resides with his wife, Anna, on their working farm in Davisville. 

Larry is the Minority Chairman of the House Health & Humans Resources Committee, a member of the House Finance, Rules, and Banking & Insurance Committees. 

Because of his knowledge as a practicing pharmacist and his experience as a legislator, Larry was appointed, by the current and previous Speaker of the House of Delegates to be a board member for the National Legislative Association on Prescription Drug Prices whose focus is to keep prescription drug prices affordable.

Larry was born In Parkersburg, West Virgina, and has been a life long resident of Wood County. 

He was educated in Wood County Schools and graduated from Parkersburg High School with the class of 1970 and from  West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in 1975.

He has been a practicing retail pharmacist for over 32 years and is currently  employed by CVS Pharmacy, Inc. 

Larry  served as a member of the Wood County Planning Commission for over 18 years.

Larry is a member of the Parkersburg Lions Club and a "Melvin Jones Fellow."   He was a three-term president of the Eastwood Lions Club and has served on the cabinets of a number of District 29L governors. 

Larry and Anna have been married for 34 years and have three grown children.  Their oldest daughter, Heather, a physician and her husband Scott Mullens, a physical therapist, reside in Cary, North Carolina.  They are expecting their first child (Katie) in February.

Their second daughter, Rebecca,  is a homemaker/accountant. She and her husband, Brad Dimit, vice president and general manager of Larry Border Contracting, LLC, reside in Williamstown with their children, Lacey Angela and Jonathan James (J.J.)

Their son, Christopher is a pharmacy student  at WVU School of Pharmacy in Morgantown. He resides there with his wife, Naddine Hollen Border and  their daughter, Kylee Rose.

Larry and his family are members of the Word of God Ministries where he is on the Board of Trustees.  

Larry and Anna have enjoyed singing as members of the "Friends" gospel quartet for twenty-two years.

Larry is also a member of Gideons International, Wood County Farm Bureau, West Virginia Pharmacy Association, and the National Rifle Association.
