Dear Fellow American,
My name is Tom Kennedy, I am running for the office of United States Representative in Congress for the 40th District of California, for 2008.
We now live with a declining dollar, stock market / 401k retirements, Social Security, home values and economy - but, rising food, housing, healthcare, energy, gas, unemployment and taxes. We have record high personal and government debt but, Congress bails out big banks and corporations and wastes our money on foreign aid and a no-win war. Our huge federal government, regulations, bureaucracy and taxes make US uncompetitive! I will vote for lower taxes, less government and the independence of our United States! I will vote to get US out of the no-win Iraq War, to repeal NAFTA and keep US out of the North American Union / Security and Prosperity Partnership - "managed-trade" deals give away American jobs and independence.
But, there is an issue of great importance on which I need your immediate support and action. We Americans need to extricate ourselves from the many "free-trade" agreements of NAFTA, CAFTA and the planned North American Union / Security and Prosperity Partnership that our elected leaders are now considering! These trade agreements are unconstitutional and damaging to our economy and our independence. Since the closing down of the steel mills in Pittsburgh in the mid-60's, we have experienced massive manufacturing and job outsourcing to other countries and now see many white-collar jobs being exported. At the same time we have millions of entry-level jobs being done by illegal immigrants who don't really want to be here (just ask them!) but, NAFTA has destroyed the economy of their countries too! We are now the world's largest "debtor nation" with an irresponsible $17 trillion of debt! And, it's increasing by billions of dollars a month for the no-win war in Iraq and the never-to-end "War on Terrorism!"
Therefore, please fax or write current Congressman, Ed Royce asking him to cosponsor "House Concurrent Resolution 40" submitted to Congress 1-22-07. As of 1-1-08, for some reason, Rep. Royce chooses to not cosponsor the bill! (Save your letter or fax to compare to his reply.)
