Re-elect Galveston County Treasurer Kevin Walsh
Republican Leadership that's Working for You.

Dear Galveston County Taxpayer and Neighbor,

Serving as your Treasurer these past four years has been an honor and a privilege.

As Galveston County’s banker and investment officer, I receive all monies belonging to the county from whatever source, I keep and account for all county money in designated banks, and I pay all the county’s bills and write all county checks, including payroll checks for the hardworking county employees who serve you every day.

I also make sure that your tax money is invested wisely and conservatively.

When it comes to protecting the money of Galveston County’s taxpayers, I take my obligations and responsibilities very seriously.

Things are better now than they were four years ago in Galveston County because of the actions I have taken as your County Treasurer.

I am a Certified Public Accountant with over seventeen years of financial experience. My policies have brought credibility, integrity, and professionalism back to the Treasurer’s office.  County employees get paid on time now. Vendors get checks that don’t bounce.

I am a lifelong Republican, and a fiscal conservative who has increased the return on your tax money.

More importantly, I promised to save taxpayer money by ending the frivolous lawsuits filed against our county by the previous Democrat Treasurer.

I kept my promise. I stopped the lawsuits within six months of taking office, saving over one million dollars in legal fees.

But there is more work to be done; together we can build a more stable, fiscally conservative financial system here in Galveston County, with a more open and responsive Treasurer’s Office.

I ask for your vote in the Republican primary on Tuesday, March 7th, 2006 so we can keep the Treasurer's Office on the right track.

Thank you for your input and continued support.

God bless Galveston County and God bless Texas.

Kevin
