Dear Residents of Watertown,
I am a candidate for Watertown Town Councilor At Large because I believe I can make a positive impact on the challenges we face in Watertown. As a Town Councilor I will promote a spirit of openness and responsiveness in our town government, and I will place a strong emphasis on public participation, creative and collaborative problem solving, and the efficient and effective use of taxpayer’s dollars. We need to put good policy above blind partisanships.
Watertown is a great community with a fine history. It’s a desirable place to live, raise a family, work, shop and grow a business. I want to serve on the Town Council to strengthen Watertown and realize our vision of a community in which all of our residents have the opportunity to aspire to their highest potential.
For the past six years I have had the honor to be elected and re-elected to the Watertown Library Board of Trustees. During that time I worked with town officials and community residents to achieve a goal of planning and building a new public library. Today, Watertown has one of the finest libraries in the state. The library services our entire community with multiple programs and resources. It’s a facility of which we can all be very proud.
On November 3rd, I respectfully ask for one of your four votes, so I may serve you and the Town of Watertown as a member of the Town Council. You have my commitment that I will serve conscientiously and work in the best interest of you and the taxpayers of Watertown.
Sincerely yours,
Mike Hanlon
