Pat McGeehan was born the son of the late Col. Mark McGeehan and Jodie McIntosh-Juszczak at an Air Force Base in Oklahoma.
Growing up as a military brat, Pat spent his younger years with his family at Air Force Bases in Michigan, Nebraska, California, Guam, Alabama, and finally in Spokane, Washington---where at the age of 15, he witnessed his father’s death—as Col. McGeehan’s B-52 bomber crashed and exploded on the run-way at the Base in June of 1994.
After his father’s death, Pat moved back to West Virginia where both sides of his family were raised and where the McGeehan’s have always considered home.
Pat graduated from Oak Glen High School in 1998 and followed in his Dad’s footsteps by gaining an appointment to the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.
He attended college at the US Air Force Academy and afterwards, served for a number of years as an Air Force Intelligence Officer in multiple assignments, including one tour in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
During his service in the military, he led a project here in Hancock County to create a memorial to honor local West Virginia Veterans and their service to our country. The B-52 Bomber Veterans Memorial in Chester was completed and dedicated on July 4th, 2006. Pat then successfully negotiated with the "Poverty Neck Hillbillies" to put on a free concert in Chester in honor of the dedication ceremony.
Since that time, Pat has separated from the military and now resides in Chester. In order to create more jobs and employment opportunity for residents here in West Virginia and to spur further economic development, Pat started and heads a new production plant located in Newell. Mountain State Packaging now manufactures and distributes corrugated containers and packaging materials to industrial companies throughout West Virginia.
Pat’s record of community service demonstrates the dedication he has to his home. Pat’s personal creed is “Action…Not Words”----He is committed to public service and will take this dedication with him to West Virginia’s House of Delegates.
