March 2008 - Recently, the Amherst Youth Foundation has taken another large step forward in serving the community by obtaining a grant to help develop what was a former fire hall into an unparalleled community asset.

The importance of exercise as well as a safe area to play year round cannot be overemphasized. Our area's youth and youth organizations that utilize the Independent Health Youth and Family Center
at 5005 Sheridan Drive will now have a wonderful new area to test their emerging skills, to grow, and to have fun.

Congressman Thomas M. Reynolds was invaluable in securing needed funds to renovate the former fire hall's truck bay into a space-efficient gym .

Construction of the mini-gym is complete and the Amherst Youth Foundation eagerly anticipants starting construction on the playground, and thanks Congressman Reynolds and the entire community for your ongoing and dedicated support!

Call 633-6773 for a tour of our building right now,
and then come back at a future date to see our dreams realized! It's your community, and your Foundation -- come and help us craft the best environment for our youth and families.
