Amherst’s 8th Annual
Dusk to Dawn Relay Challenge

The Amherst Dusk to Dawn Relay Challenge
is a healthy community celebration. For 12 hours, students, adults, volunteers and friends share in the excitement, community building and fun. Teams of 10-12 youth and/or adults come together for the challenge of a lifetime!
Throughout the evening and into the dawn of a new day, each participant runs or walks a mile and then passes the baton to another teammate who does the same. This process is repeated until all ten members of the team have completed a mile and then it begins all over again. This is the Dusk to Dawn Challenge!
It’s not all about the action on the track... the event takes place in a huge tent-city with plenty of food, music, refreshments, entertainment, places to relax and organized activities. Students, parents, teachers, law enforcement and community members meet on common ground and build trust and develop friendships. Young people have the support of adults for a relaxing time with one another in a drug-free/alcohol-free environment. Just wait until you experience it.
This year's relay was a great success with many teams participating. Come be a part of next year's Relay in 2010!
