We must offer the best public education to all our children because it is the cornerstone of America's future. Our schools must stress science, math, the arts, and history. Our schools must instill in our children a civic commitment and an understanding of our national heritage. The Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution must be taught to our children so that our great democratic values may be handed down to succeeding generations.

Children with disabilities must receive an equal education, and Special Education must be fully funded by the Congress. We must ensure that children who need Special Education receive the appropriate education to enable them to become full participating citizens who contribute to the life of our nation.

The No Child Left Behind Act is not working. It should be ended. If we don't end it, then it must be fully funded and fairly applied to children.

Teachers must be paid sufficient wages to encourage them to continue teaching and to bring in new teachers in the future. Wages must be indexed to the cost of living.
