We must expand mass transit in Northern Virginia, although this cannot be the only, or perhaps even the primary, solution.

We must increase the walkability of our neighborhoods, and provide safe pedestrian access to our mass transit systems.
Everyone should be able to walk to the doctor, the dentist, the grocery store, the drug store, the library and to school. We have to stop building our public services in places that are only accessible by automobile.

We must consider alternatives like tax credits for reducing daily commutes or car pooling.
Solutions like monthly passes for metro and bus services could increase use of those services by making the cost of public transportation more predictable.
A monthly metro pass would be easier to use, more convenient, and would have a positive environmental impact.
