Hi!  Welcome to our website.  We are the Milton Township Republican Central Committee and are composed of 109 enthusiastic volunteer Precinct Committeemen and women.  Milton is one of the nine townships that make up DuPage County.  DuPage County is at the heart of Republican politics in Illinois and Milton Township is in the heart of DuPage County.  Milton Township consistently turns out some of the highest percentage Republican votes in the state and we want to keep it that way!   We are very proud that Milton Township government operates in the black and with a high degree of efficiency and professionalism.  Since all elected Township officials are Republican, we see a strong connection.  Our Township includes all of Glen Ellyn and Wheaton plus portions of Downers Grove, Lombard, Carol Stream and Winfield.

As the grass roots organization of the Republican Party we are guided by the following goals:

  • To promote the general principles of the Republican Party Platform; smaller government, free enterprise, lower taxes, a strong national defense, traditional family values and respect for God and Country.
  • To encourage active involvement in the political process.
  • To be an active partner in civic and community activities and events.
  • To meet with, evaluate and promote Republican candidates at all levels.
  • To provide accurate information on topics and candidates which impact the citizens and tax payers in our area.
  • To promote individual responsibility over government dependency.
  • To always act in the best interest of our neighbors and fellow citizens.

We meet regularly at Wheaton Bowl in Wheaton on the second Wednesday of the month.  Anyone with a serious interest in helping work toward our goals is welcome to join us.  We hope that you’ll find this web site to be the helpful and informative resource we intended.  Please feel free to contact us with your concerns, comments or suggestions at any time.

The results of straw polls taken at Milton Township Republican Central Committee (MTRCC) Oktoberfest fundraisers are very important for many reasons -- Milton Township is at the heart of DuPage County and DuPage County is at the heart of the Illinois Republican Party.  Many of those who vote in MTRCC Oktoberfests straw polls are opinion leaders. 370 attended MTRCC's outstanding 30th annual Oktoberfest fundraiser Friday evening, October 30, 2009 at the Abbington Banquet Hall in Glen Ellyn.  306 voted in a straw poll.  Mark Kirk won the U.S. Senate straw poll with 224 of 306 votes cast in that race -- Patrick Hughes received 55 votes, Eric Wallace 15 votes, Don Lowery 4 votes, John Arrington 3 votes, Kathleen Thomas 2 votes, and Ed Varga 1 vote; Bob Schillerstrom won the governor poll with 142 of 265 votes -- Kirk Dillard received 37 votes, Adam Andrzejewski 36 votes, Bill Brady 29 votes, Jim Ryan 13 votes, Dan Proft 6 votes, and Andy McKenna 2 votes; Jason Plumber won the lieutenant governor poll with 107 of 226 votes -- Brad Cole received 54 votes, Matt Murphy 36 votes, Dennis Cook 17 votes, Don Tracy 7 votes, and Randy White 5 votes; Jim Dodge won the comptroller poll with 102 of 217 votes -- Judy Baar Topinka received 86 votes and William Kelly 29; U.S. Senate candidates Patrick Hughes and Mark Kirk, gubernatorial candidates Adam Andrzejewski and Bob Schillerstrom, and lieutenant governor candidates Brad Cole and Jason Plummer addressed the audience; statewide candidates Kirk Dillard, Dan Proft, and Judy Baar Topinka attended; attendees included Bolds, Bowler, Brauer, Bucholz, Carlson, Carr, Cherry, Mike Connelly, Cronin, Dabrowski, Earl, Edwards, Falbo, Fortner, French, Fuesting, Grasso, Grogan, Guerin, Hage, Heidorn, Henry, Hinds, Hinkle, Hultgren, Hundhausen, Johns, Jorgensen, Kachiroubas, King, Kinsella, Kmiecik, Koch, Krzyzewski, Larsen, Leventis, Manzzullo, McBride, McKillip, Menna, Muehlfelt, Al Murphy, Barbara Murphy, Olson, Ossyra, Pihos, Pierotti, Prueter, Roskam, Ruscitti, Saverino, Schostok, Smith, Sutter, Vician, Whelan, Zahm, and Zaruba; MTRCC Chairman Mike Formento served as master of ceremonies. Ads in the outstanding 2009-2010 MTRCC Directory were taken out by Anderson, Andrzejewski, Birkett, Bucholz, Carr, Chinchilla, Coladipietro, Cole, Mike Connelly, Cronin, Earl, Eckhoff, Edwards, Formento, Fortner, French, Grasso, GOPUSA ILLINOIS, Gresk, Grogan, Guerin, Heidorn, Henry, Hinkle, Jorgensen, Kachiroubas, Keller, King, Kotecki, McBride, McKillip, Muehlfelt, Olson, Pankau, Pierotti, Pihos, Plummer, Puchalski, Roskam, Ruscitti, Schillerstrom, Schostok, Siekmann, Spitzzeri, Sutter, Wheaton Woman's Republican Club, and Zaruba.  Coming soon: listing of those who sponsored tables and donated auction items.

October 30 MTRCC Oktoberfest to include a straw poll for statewide offices

One more reason to attend MTRCC's Oktoberfest fundraiser at the Abbington Banquet Hall in Glen Ellyn Friday evening, October 30, is to have the opportunity to cast your vote in a straw poll for the statewide candidates.  All the statewide candidates in contested races are invited to participate in the straw poll.  For U.S. Senate: John Arrington, Patrick Hughes, Mark Kirk, Tom Kuna, Don Lowery, Andy Martin, Kathleen Thomas, Ed Varga, Eric Wallace, and Robert Zadek.  For Governor: Adam Andrzejewski, Bill Brady, Kirk Dillard, Andy McKenna, Dan Proft, and Bob Schillerstrom.  For Lieutenant Governor: Brad Cole, Dennis Cook, Deb Leticia Gordils, Matt Murphy, Jason Plummer, Don Tracy, and Randy White.  For Comptroller: Jim Dodge, William Kelly, and Judy Baar Topinka. The candidates have been sent an invitation letter from MTRCC Chairman Mike Formento.  Please visit the Files page at www.miltonrepublicans.org for a form to use to order tickets for the event, to take out an ad in the 2009-2010 MTRCC Directory, and to donate items for the silent and live auctions.  For more information on the event, please contact Formento at 630-546-1780 or Mikeformento@sbcglobal.net. I had the honor of arranging and promoting the U.S. Senate straw poll that MTRCC conducted at its 2003 Oktoberfest. Six of the seven U.S. Senate candidates attended and spoke at the event - John Borling, Chirinjeev Kathuria, Andy McKenna, Jim Oberweis, Jack Ryan, and Jonathan Wright. Senator Chris Lauzen spoke for Senator Steve Rauschenberger who could not attend. Over 600 Republicans attended and 411 voted in the straw poll. Members of Wheaton College Republicans tallied the votes. Jack Ryan received 98 votes, Rauschenberger 85, McKenna 80, Oberweis 67, Kathuria 39, Wright 23, and Borling 19. The Daily Herald published an article in its October 11, 2003 edition titled "Republicans take center stage with Senate poll in DuPage." MTRCC's used its $26,000 net profit from the event to promote Republican turnout in Milton Township in both the 2004 primary and 2004 general elections.
