Marlboro Accomplishments

  •  Enacted one of the toughest anti-corruption pay-to-play ordinances in all of New Jersey.
  • Stopped overdevelopment, which led to the first consecutive decline in school enrollment in 20 years. As a result, Marlboro K-8 won't be redistricted and we will not need to build a new school in the near future.
  • Adopting a new Master Plan that included up zoning land parcels from two to five acres, which ended the reckless overdevelopment that's harmed Marlboro.
  • Mandated sex offenders cannot live within 2,500 feet of a school, park, recreational field or day care center.
  • Reduced lot coverage requirements on pavers, decks and pools, which eliminated unnecessary variances and expenses to our homeowners.
  • Required builders to contribute funds for detention basins, which decreased expenses to the township.
  • Enacted a County Approved Storm Water Ordinance to improve our environment and addressing chronic flooding problems.
  • Established a productive relationship with the Zoning Board, which has enabled the residents to have more friendly laws by enacting numerous recommendations.
  • Mandated background checks for all Township volunteers.
  • Required applicant disclosure disclaimers on all Zoning and Planning Board applications.
  • Mandated that the Township Engineer provide residence reports on all Maintenance and Performance Bond Releases.
  • Working with the State and County to preserve four farms in the past four years, which amounted to over 250 preserved acres that will never be built on.
  • Making major roadway improvements on Brown Road, Union Hill Road and Robertsville Road.
  • Implementing a Pavement Management Plan to address long-neglected road issues.
  • Enabled homes along the Route 18 Corridor to construct 8 foot walls to help mitigate better control the level of noise.
  • Course corrected the fiscal health of the Marlboro Swim Club by enabling 250 residents of Manalapan to become members of the swim Club through a shared services agreement.
  • Received a $127,000 grant to conduct soil testing at the Marlboro State Hospital and determine what the remediation costs will be. In addition, a recent Redevelopment Plan was passed, which will allow Marlboro to better control the future usage of the property. The result will protect our land from future over-development.
  • Initiated CPR Training for all residents. One class was already completed and several more will be scheduled.
