Why Do a Heart Screen?

Ryan Boslet was a healthy 17 year old football player. Jason Collier was a rising basketball star. Neither had any idea they had a potentially fatal heart condition until it was too late.  Problems like  these are often spotted with echocardiograms like those used at Physical Day. 

"Helping to provide physicals for these kids is very important,” said Dr. Michael Brown from Kennestone Heart. “While the problem is rare, every year in Georgia, at least one child dies because of a heart related event.”

How does it work?

The screen takes less than a minute and is performed by staff from our partners at Kennestone Heart.  Cardiologists are on hand in case a student needs a second look.
