Welcome to my website.
It is my hope to provide you with as much insight into the office of the 52nd Delegate District as possible. Explore my site...participate in the surveys, register to vote, get involved and give me feedback. You really can make a difference!
In 2002, my decision to pursue this office was to provide my neighbors and the voters of the 52nd district with effective and responsible leadership and to fix the “out of control, $4 billion dollar in debt Workers’ Comp system.” I believe that I have done just that.
I’ve brought an air of common sense, trustworthiness and understanding to the office. I have provided accessible leadership via the phone, internet, postal and town hall meetings to all residents including those who live outside the district.
I consider myself a new breed of public official that works for the people and not for one’s self. I believe that it is important to work with all of the Eastern Panhandle delegates, both republican and democrat, and to market our unique needs and ideas to the legislature with a businesslike approach, while trying to put an end to the tax and spend mentality.
My goal has been to represent the majority of my constituency and do their will. In fact, I only have one special interest group and that’s the person who goes to work, pays their bills, pays their taxes and raises their family. Too often this majority has been forgotten.
I’ve streamlined the constituent problem solving process when dealing with government by creating Eastern Panhandle Servant. I learned early that when dealing with government agencies, mail gets lost and phone calls forgotten. When you use e-mail, there’s and electronic paper trail, and forwarding to the appropriate party is much simpler and faster.
My vision of changing the tax structure and implementing further tort reforms will improve the business climate thus bringing more employers to our state. As jobs increase, employment will broaden, stabilizing our tax base while increasing revenues. A strong treasury combined with a lean, efficient government will allow our state to fully invest in our future commitments like education, roads and the safety and well-being of our families. Surrounding state workers on average make $10,000 more a year than the average West Virginia worker. That’s unacceptable! West Virginians deserve more jobs with better pay.
You might ask where I stand on the issues. Some things can’t be compromised on. Here’s a list with no specific order of importance:
ü I believe in protecting the innocent and punishing the guilty. This means I am against abortion because no human being is more innocent than an unborn child and I support capital punishment for without doubt murder.
ü I’m Pro-Second Amendment. Every law abiding citizen has the constitutional right to protect his or her family by force if necessary.
ü I’m for less government intrusion on our daily lives and more personal responsibility.
ü Your tax dollars must be spent as wisely as possible.
ü I’m for lower taxes. Government has never taxed its way to prosperity.
There you have it in a nutshell and make no mistake, the position of Delegate for the 52nd District is the property of the people. I am honored to serve as your voice in the West Virginia Legislature and I hope that I can continue to serve you into the future.
Enjoy the site and I look forward to seeing and hearing from you soon.
