Real Reform
Albany has changed our incumbent Senator rather than him changing Albany. Fred Goodman is committed to not letting that happen to him. He won't just talk about reform at election time. This is demonstrated with his campaign. He will work to reduce the power of special interests in government by not accepting any contribution over $250 or any corporate donations and challenging his opponents to do the same because government should be about people, not special interests and large donors.
Fred, unlike his opponents, has pledged that he will be a full-time Senator who will not accept any donations from anyone with business before any committee he serves on.
He will also hold town hall meetings in each of the counties in the district every year he is in office to make sure he hears local concerns.
For too long, Joe Bruno has used his political power to dictate economic development while our Senate District has struggled. Fred will work with the new Democratic Majority in the State Senate to bring reform to economic development so money will be spent and incentives given based on need and not politics. He will work with the officials in Western Saratoga, Montgomery, and Fulton to bring the same kind of success that Schenectady County has achieved in the last four years under Democratic leadership.
