• My children attend or have attended the city schools, unlike the current mayor.
• I have over thirty years experience in legal matters, and business matters particularly as they pertain to intellectual property. 
• I am an owner/director/advisor to several biotechnology and biomedical small businesses.
• I have a full life.  I'm not a career politician, unlike the current mayor.
• I have no property development interests, particularly tied to Carrboro, unlike the current mayor.
• I am 56 years old, old enough to recognize living beyond one's means, old enough to have learned how insidious government injustice can be.
