Keansburg, NJ:  On Friday, August 8, 2008, officials of the Borough of Keansburg positioned a newly purchased piece of safety equipment of the Keansburg Police Department on Port Monmouth Road at the entrance of the Keansburg High School.

This newly purchased safety equipment is a traffic safety speed monitoring trailer with digital display.  This piece of equipment also gives detailed printed reports recording the number of vehicles traveling the roadway, the speed of each vehicle and the time the vehicle traveled the roadway.

The Keansburg Police Department will be utilizing this piece of equipment in the immediate areas of all schools within the Borough of Keansburg prior to the beginning of the coming school year.

This equipment will remain in these areas after the opening of the school year.

The Mayor and Council instructed the Police Department to purchase this piece of equipment to address the quality of life issues, such as speeding and children safety, with the Borough of Keansburg.

Mayor and Council will now have an additional tool to address complaints of residents concernig speeding vehicles with the borough.

This piece of equipment was purchased with grants funds at no cost to the taxpayers and residents of the Borough of Keansburg.

The Mayor, Council and Borough Manager have issued a directive to all department heads to make every effort to increase the safety and quality of life conditions for all residents and visitors of the Borough of Keansburg.
