ILOAT Awards Whistleblower $75,000 in first of 8 cases

Judgment of the ILO Administrative Tribunal in the first of former WMO Internal Auditor and whistleblower Maria Veiga's eight cases filed before the ILOAT. In Judgment N° 2752, the ILOAT awarded Veiga CHF 78,000. due to SG Jarraud's initial illegal attempts to dissuade her from investigating or otherwise following the use of the $3.5 million embezzled from the WMO which Veiga alleges was used to rig or otherwise illegally influence the election of the WMO SG in 2003. The rest of the Judgments are scheduled to announced by the ILOAT probably in July 2009--stay tuned!

Veiga v. WMO et al--Whistleblower/RICO Suit Filed--Docket 07-CV 3182

Former WMO Internal Auditor has filed a civil complaint in US Federal District Court for the Southern District of NY against her former employer WMO, its current SG Michel Jarraud, and several other current or former WMO officials. The action alleges racketeering, corruption, wrongful dismissal, intentional infliction of emotional distress. Jurisdiction is based on the Alien Tort Claims Act.

Veiga v. WMO--Final Internal Auditor Report

A complaint has been filed with the US Federal District Court for Southern New York (Docket N° 07 CV 3182) by the former WMO internal auditor against her former employer and several of its senior officials. This download is Ms. Veiga's final investigation report referenced in the complaint.
