In recent years, the UN has conned hundreds of businesses to join its so-called Global Compact program.
This program is a series of 10 principles, including labour standards, good governance requirements, and anti-corruption measures which exhort businesses and other members of civil society to be better global citizens. For the privilege of being heckled by the hypocritical UN, businesses get to pay a fee to the UN.
Unfortunately, the dirty little secret is that the UN honors these principles in the breach--it doesn't comply with many of the principles, in particular those relating to labour standards (concerning the way it treats its own staff), good governance and anti-corruption measures.
We urge all our readers to contact the 100 largest companies that are members of the Global Compact sham and to urge them to insist that the UN itself comply fully and completely with all 10 principles of the Global Compact--if the UN fails to do so, then the Companies should withdraw from the Global Compact. And if the Companies refuse to withdraw, then a Global Boycott of Global Compact Companies will be organized.
