A big thanks to presenters Andre O'Brien (CLI 2005) and Linda Beggs (CLI 1998) for their great work. Thanks also to Congressman Phil Gingrey and Rep. Ed Lindsey who addressed the class during our inaugural opening session.

About Republican Leadership for Georgia
The Board of Directors of Coverdell Leadership Institute, Inc. voted early in 2009 to terminate the established Republican leadership development program effective with the graduation of the class of 2009 and establish a new entity that will offer a non-partisan program.
A group of CLI alumni subsequently met and resolved that a partisan, principles-based Republican leadership program is important to the ongoing growth and viability of Republican prominence in Georgia. The leadership group, with strong support by their fellow alumni, organized a new effort to carry on the prevailing mission of CLI. The the new organization is Republican Leadership for Georgia (RLG). Senator Coverdell established CLI's mission in a July 15, 1996 letter announcing the program:
" to fill the ranks of Georgia's Republicans with trained leaders: people who are committed to the tradition of full participation in the political process, people who believe in Republican principles, and people who are willing to be or support candidates, to serve as state or local appointees, and/or to work building our successes at the grassroots level."
RLG believes that the mission articulated by Senator Coverdell is vital to the ongoing success of the Georgia Republican Party.
While the program will resemble CLI's previous format, RLG will draw on the considerable experience of CLI alumni to offer a compelling and relevant leadership development and Republican networking experience. RLG is governed and operated exclusively by CLI graduates. Each of the existing 13 CLI classes are designed to have representation on leadership team.
We are working quickly to establish a program, solicit participants and develop a 2009-2010 agenda. If you have questions about this new program or how you can be involved, use the ‘contact’ link or reach out to one of the leadership team listed on our website. Thanks for your interest in Republican Leadership for Georgia!
