Dear Friend,
Wow! What a beginning!
The level of enthusiasm at the March 20th fundraiser was overwhelming and this energy was carried through to the fundraiser held in May. People feel it in the air, victory is within reach!
This is our year to capture the mayor’s seat and begin a new era of fiscal responsibility and oversight for the Town of Hamden. Mayor Henrici’s record reads like a rap sheet: broken promises, ethical breaches, unsubstantiated mileage logs, inappropriate dumping of animal carcasses, ill conceived spending projects with no source of funding, assaulting taxpayers with 3 years of consecutive tax increases, etc, etc. Friends, the mayor’s record has already brought us to the cusp of victory!
This is not the time to let down our guard. We must continue to press our campaign toward the finish line. The opposition is about to regroup and charge forward with yet another round of promises that won't be kept. We must be well positioned to counter these tactics and provide voters with a clear choice in November.
While we have the truth on our side, it will cost money to get our message out. As you know campaigns are expensive and I need to raise at least $50,000 to put up a credible campaign challenge this fall. If there was ever a time to contribute to a campaign, this would be it.
Remember, the last election's outcome was decided by a mere 650 votes. If ever you thought that your vote doesn’t matter, you would be wrong. I will do my part to work hard toward the goal line. Despite these difficult times, please take part in our victory on November 3, 2009 by contributing what you can to our campaign effort.
