A WisconsinEye Interview With Joe Deklotz --> Click Here
I’ve simplified my website to include only those items that I feel are needed to help you make your final decision on who to vote for in the September 14th Primary Election. If you have questions that are not answered here, please give me a call at: 262-370-1802 or e-mail your question to me at: JoeDeklotz@Gmail.com.
Our state has serious Financial, Organizational, and Leadership issues. These issues can only be resolved by working together and by vetting our plans through a set of strong conservative principles. Working together and putting partisan loyalties aside is the only way to make our system work. We cannot afford the politics of the past – we need to get serious.
I have said that if you want to know my position on a given topic, ask. If you want to understand my position on almost all topics, ask about my values and guiding principles. Here is a snapshot of “some” of my guiding principles, positions, and commitments to you in no particular order:
PRINCIPLES:
1. Smaller, non-invasive, government is better than larger government
2. Local control is better than state control is better than federal control on most subjects
3. Government should not compete with the open market
4. Government should not overly restrict or control the open market
a. some regulations and oversight is required
5. Life is precious and should be protected, from conception to natural death
6. People (and governments) should be held accountable for their actions and performance
7. Traditional family values and the sanctity of marriage is important to our future and must be protected
8. Social programs are there to help people in time of need and should not be turned into life style programs

a. e.g. Ethanol, solar power, wind power, prevailing wage, the train
2. I do support development incentives to help business develop products that do not require “end use” subsidies – however, with a future commitment to manufacture in Wisconsin
3. I support voter ID
4. I am committed to a strong national and state defense
5. I support laws that promote ethics and morality as defined by Christian values
6. I support conceal carry with appropriate training and licensing – not tracking
7. I do support business incentives but with commitments to the state and the local community
8. Our educational system is critical to our future and must continue to improve
a. This does not mean more money – but cost savings and better methods
9. Taxes and fees should be minimized but not to the point of eroding our quality of life
COMMITTMENTS
1. I am committed to this Assembly Responsibility only and will NOT be campaigning for any other political office, now or in the future
2. My actions will be open and above board
3. My decisions will be based on facts and principles and I will strive to identify the consequences of new laws before voting for or against them
4. I will answer your questions and communicate regularly with you
5. I will be, and will work to make government, good stewards of our tax dollars
6. I will live my private life morally and ethically and will do the same as your representative
I am the only candidate in this race with 35 years of increasing relevant global business experience and 58 years of life experiences. I have managed companies, departments, and hundreds of employees at General Electric, Allen-Bradley, Schenck AccuRate and ETC. My business background as well as my engineering analytical skills will enable me to understand the problems facing the state and to get at the root cause of these issues which will allow us to find solutions. These business and life experiences, I feel, are necessary when addressing the serious issues facing our state.
As your future State Assembly Representative, I am committed to you and to making a difference in the future of Wisconsin. My wife Pat and our three children have lived in various locations throughout the U.S. and have visited many locations around the world. Without question, our 25 years in the 33rd Assembly District have been the most rewarding. I believe that Wisconsin is the best place to work and live and I am asking for your help and support in returning Wisconsin to the great state it can be.
Please cast your vote for me in the September 14th primary election.
Thank you for your support,
Joe Deklotz
