As a memebr of the Hercules City Council from 2000 to present, the city council, staff members and our community were able to create projects and programs that will help improve our city's sales revenue generators, economic development and the preservation of our quality of life:

  • Hercules Public Library
  • Hercules Teen Center
  • Creation of the Hercules Farmers Market
  • Restoration of the Civic Arts Building
  • Initiated phase one of the John Muir Highway extension and the construction of the Tsushima Avenue  Bridge, both which will provide direct access tot he Bayside neighborhood and the future Hercules Multi Inter Modal Transportation Center
  • Entitlement of Sycamore Downtown Project was obtained, providing for the delivery of mixed used development consisting of 40,000 square feet of commercial/retail space and 96 affordable and market rate mix residential
  • Instrumental in acquiring property at the southwest corner of Sycamore Avenue to provide commercial/retail opportunities as part of the Sycamore Downtown Development
  • Ontained entitlement and approval for the BART Transit Center relocation, a major step in the development of Willow Avenue and the City's Entertainment Corridor and New Town Center
  • Rehabilitation of community parks and recreation facilities
  • Created an Ad Hoc Committee resulting in the successful implementation of the Secure Mail Box Replacement Program
  • Assisted in the completion of the New Hercules Middle and High School
  • Assisted in the completion of the Lupine Ohlone Elementary School
  • Initiated the lobbying effort to construct a New Ohlone Elementary School Replacement Buildings
  • Implemented housing programs such as: First Time Home Buyers Assistance Program, Emergency Home Repair Loan Program; Loans for Senior Citizens
  • Development of 132 units of Multi-Family Affordable Housing at Victoria By The Bay
  • Assited in the financing and approved a 50 Unit Senior Citizen Housing Development adjacent to the new library
  • Established the Hercules Education Commission
  • Established the  Hercules Municipal Utility
  • Establishment of a New Development Impact Fee Program to assist in funding construction for new Public Facilities and Infrastructure
  • New Internet Website Developed and Implemented
  • Implemented a new Telephone System for our city hall and other public facilities
  • Developed Cable television System Improvements
  • Victoria By The bay Development
  • Created the Beautification and Community Pride Ad Hoc Committee to implement a Community Clean-Up and Pride Campaign
  • Instrumental in the planning and funding efforts for the Hercules Transit Center, a regional transit facility delivering rail, water and bus transit services to relieve current and future congestion on Interstate 80 (I-80 Corridor) 
  • Created and implemented a process for the annexation of properties in the City's sphere of influence to provide future economic development and open space opportunities
  • Westcat "Lynx" Direct Bus Transportation service from Hercules to San Francisco 
  • Water Transit Authority - FerryTerminal Site (Multi Modal Transit Center - in progress
  • Sycamore Downtown Street Developement (Mixed Use Residential and Commercial/Retail)
  • Development of New Parks and Parking
  • Residential Development; Victoria By The Bay Development (800+ new homes), Promenade Development (217 new homes); Bayside Development (334 new homes); Sycamore Villas (124 new homes); Refugio Valley Development (18 new homes); Cottage Lane Development (66 new homes)
  • Over Two Billion Dollars of Real Estate Equity Investment (2001-2005)
  • Increase Developers fees to assist in construction of new Public Facilities

  • New Parks, passive and active

  • Implemented a new Complaint Tracking System to follow up on calls made from the community

  • Incentivized public school administrators to deliver the best quality education in our city.
  • Lobbied and delivered more public safety funding to recruit more public safety officers for our city and our school.
  • Initaited the creation of the District 2000 Vision Plan

  • Assisted in the financing of Capital Partners Bldg - Hercules Business Center
  • Hercules Fitness Center 
  • Assisted in the financing for the Investigen Building
  • Northview Labaratory's New facilitity 
  • Radstons Office Supply
  • PTRL Testing Facility

  • Tulloch Business Park Building
  • Pro Media Incorporated

  • Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements – 2002-03
    • Including the $600,000 Clarifier Improvements
    • Commissioned a study to evaluate an expansion of the Pinole/Hercules Wastewater Facility 
  • Refugio Valley Road Improvements – $1.5 million
  • Sycamore Avenue Improvements  - $750,000
  • Palm Avenue Realignment – 2004 - $300,000
  • Sycamore Ave Extension Improvements –  $3.0 million
  • John Muir Parkway Extension 

Waterfront District Improvements and Central Hercules District Plan:

  • Promenade Housing Development
  • Created the Central Hercules District Plan and Regulating Code 2001
  • Train Station Development - Currently in progress
  • Construction of Live Work Units on Railroad Avenue 
  • Baywood Housing Development
  • Water Transit Development(Ferry Services to San Francisco and the Bay Area) - In Progress.
  • Approval of the Waterfront Initiative
  • San Pablo Improvement

Park and Recreation Improvements:

  • Construction of the New Frog Pod Park
  • New Playground Equipment at Refugio Park, Woodfield Park, and Foxboro Park
  • Acquired site for Duck Pond Park
  • Implemented the Hercules Teen Youth Council
  • Construction of the New Hercules Teen Center
  • Implemented the After School Program for Hercules Middle School
  • Added Air Conditioning to the Hercules Swim Center
  • Founded the City of Hercules Golf Club
  • Addditional community programs for the seniors of our community.
