A lifelong resident of Bergen County, Bob has been actively involved in public service for thirty years. He began helping his community as a volunteer firefighter in 1980, and went on to serve two terms as Fire Chief. Elected to serve as a Councilman in the Township of Washington in 1991, Bob has been a driving force in his local government, holding the posts of Council President twice and Council Vice-President three times.

It is this extraordinary combination of energy, drive and business savvy that Robert Schroeder brings to government. Relying on management strategies developed as a corporate executive, Bob has forged creative solutions for the important issues facing his constituents. As a result of his leadership, Washington Township has one of the most stable tax rates in Bergen County, excellent town-wide services, recreational facilities built solely from local contributions and volunteer manpower, and has acquired its own Post Office and zip code.

Bob is also the founder of All Points International Distributors, a local company that supports international relief efforts on behalf of the U.S. Government, NATO, the United Nations, and other relief organizations. He has traveled extensively to provide aid and assistance to areas in need, both abroad and here at home. Bob has received numerous honors and awards for his humanitarian efforts, including his support during the Hurricane Katrina crisis.

Robert Schroeder has worked closely with leaders all across New Jersey, doing volunteer work and lobbying for the rights and privileges of all residents in the Garden State. Although he has been in the political arena for many years, Bob is best known as a dedicated volunteer and public servant. He has developed a reputation as someone who truly listens and responds to issues that are important to his constituents, actively pursuing solutions rather than simply paying lip service. Bob’s can-do attitude and penchant for always putting his constituents first has garnered him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, regardless of party affiliation.

A 1978 graduate of Westwood High School and a 1982 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, Robert Schroeder has been married to his childhood sweetheart for more than thirteen years. A loving husband and father of two, Bob is a parishioner of the Archdiocese of Newark and Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church. He remains active in his community, sitting on the board of many civic organizations, and serving on the Consultative Board for Immaculate Heart Academy. He is also a Trustee for the Leo P. McGuire Public Safety and Education Foundation, a member of the NJ/NY Fireman’s Association, NJ Firechiefs Association, and the Bergen County 200 Club, Past President of the Pascack Valley Police Vest Fund, and is on the Advisory Board of Directors for Lakeland Bank.

Robert Schroeder looks forward to joining the experienced team of Assemblywoman Charlotte Vandervalk and Senator Gerald Cardinale to serve the residents of District 39.
