Who are you? |
I am just a regular person who thinks he can make a huge difference in the direction this county is taking. I can make a sound plan, implement and tweak it if necessary, and produce strong results that are good for us the residents. |

What are you going to do for Santa Rosa County? |
I am going to approach decisions from a business perspective. I want the county run like a top notch business that provides valuable service to its customers (the people who live here)! The key is, understanding Customer service, business development, long term forcasts and budgets. I believe many of our current commissioners have forgotten who they work for. They think they work ONLY for special interest groups and developers/contractors. These groups are important, but The County Commissioners are supposed to work for the residents.

Why are you running? |
Several reasons. I do not believe our county, as a whole, has made good business decisions with the money it has collected in the past few years. When you look at the budget report from 2005 to 2007 there is a huge discrepancy of dollars spent vs population from 2005 to 2007, it is staggering! The commission has not moved fast enough to remendy situations to have a lean mastery of the finances for hard times. After Dennis, our budget should have gone down dramaticly, but it hasn't.
The way I see it, in the direction we are currently headed, there is not much to keep most of our youth here in the area. If you let all the youth grow up and move away, your county will not maintain itself for long. I know this is an oversimplification, but the basis is sound. The solution is to bring more industry to our area. As County Commissioners we will have to set higher expataions of Team Santa Rosa and be more involved ourselves! We have to bring in better quality industry than, a company that needs us to finance 26 acres and they promise to bring in 25 jobs! That deal was not worth my money as an investment!
