First, I know the following is a lot of information, but I feel in order to know me, you need to understand my background.  I was not raised with a silver spoon in my mouth.  I have worked for everything I have, and it has not been easy.  Common misconception people have is,  because I am a small business owner, I am well off or wealthy, and thats not the case.  I feel what has made me, and will continue to define me is my business sense, and tenacity. I have always planned for the future and worked my plan to attain good results.

I have fifteen years of Retail and Restaurant Management experience, long term forcasting and budgeting experience, and the ability to implement educated business decisions.

Samuel G. Cleaver

 Born in 1969 Beeville, TX.

I reasently had my first 39th birthday.  I look forward to many more.

My father, Samuel E. Cleaver was born in 1909.  He served in WWII, and was awarded the Purple Heart.  He passed away in 1972 when I was three years old.  My mother, Pamela J. Cleaver about 25 years younger than my father, had never budgeted or balanced a checkbook.  She had to raise me and my two older sisters by herself.  We were poor, and lived without running water and without electricity durring many parts of my childhood.  When I was eight we started moving around Texas, to Galvestion and Austin.  When I was nine we moved to Grand Bay, Al. near one of my aunts.  We only lived there a year and moved again, and again, and again.

When I was twelve my mother lost custody of me and I was made a ward of the state of Alabama and placed into foster care.  I lived at a place in Selma, Al. called “The Alabama Seriffs Boys and Girls Ranch”.  I went from being a loner to having about sixty brothers over-night.  Please understand that this was a foster home, and not a ‘juvie’ home or anything like that.  It was my understanding if you had a record, you were not allowed to be placed there.  There were six houses with about 10 boys at each house, with each house having a set of houes parrents (Mom and Pop).  We farmed and ranched over 250 acres.  It was beautiful land, and we worked it well.  I grew up hunting, fishing on two beautiful lakes, and training horses.  I was always considered one of the ‘good boys’ because, for the most part, I stayed out of trouble.  I graduated high school from Southside High School in Selma, Al.

I went to and graduated from The University of Alabama.  I worked full time for most of the time I was in School, I was the Credit Manager for a retail store and manager in training.  In the middle of school, I entered the Navy Reserves as a corpsman and completed my training and designation as 8404.  This meant that I had the training to go with the Marines, and treat injuries in the field.

After I graduated, I moved to Pensacola and started working in Restaurant Management.  In 2000 while working with a large retail store, my soon to be wife (Liz) and I opened our first Hair salon, the Cutting Point Inc.  This was my 2ed venture into enterpernurship, having started a couple of T-shirt company’s years earlier.  We later opened our second store in Pace, and after my daughter Alana was born we moved here, to Pace, Fl.
