Greg Hastings has made a life out of serving others.
Greg became the newest member of the House of Representative on May 8, 2007 having won the Special Election in the 41st District on May 5, 2007. He hit the ground running in the midst of the busiest time of the legislative session. He has proven his dedication to protecting the basic rights of the folks in the 41st District through his work with eminent domain, fighting for education funding, alternative energy sources, and proper disclosure of health information in cancer cluster areas, and thorough disclosure of pertinent information to home owners in manufactured housing communities. At the same time, Greg has been privileged to serve hundreds of constituents from one end of the district to the other in matters pertaining to health care, roads, septic systems, flooding, education and list goes on.
He is also well known in our community for his immensely successful stints on the Indian River School Board and the State School Board. The proven leadership and level of service that Greg has provided on behalf of our children alone makes him the right person to represent the 41st district in Dover.
However, there is much, much more to Greg Hastings.
After graduating from Delaware Tech with an Associate Degree in Architectural Engineering, Greg provided design and drafting as well as project management services for many local construction companies for 15 years before opening G. A. Hastings & Associates, Inc., where he has developed a loyal customer base performing residential design services. Greg knows how to run a tight ship, create jobs, operate in a fiscally responsible fashion, and he knows that the customer is the highest priority. He'll take that same attitude to Dover; YOU, the people of the 41st, will be Greg's highest priority.
Aside from his small business success, Greg has shown his passion for service through his longtime affiliation with Grace United Methodist Church, the Boy Scouts of America, the Bi-State Ruritan and the Millsboro Kiwanis. See Greg's lifetime of service here.
Family matters to Greg as well. He has been married to the former Charlotte Louise Gordy for 35 years, and raised two sons, both of whom are Eagle Scouts and graduates of Sussex Central High School. Jason, is married to Shante' Stargell Hastings and Jonathan, is married to Kristal Workman Hastings. Both sons live in Sussex County..
The time is now for Greg's lifetime of service to continue in Dover and be a leader for our community on issues that matter to us, issues where Greg has a lifetime of experience: education, small business and family.
We need your help and support in November to return Greg Hastings to Dover.
