Ken is guided by the values he learned from his family. His parents worked hard all their lives—his father as a printer and mother as a secretary. Ken grew up in a small town and then attended Harvard, where he studied government. After his graduation, he worked in the financial markets and got married. At the age of forty-four, after becoming chairman of the Columbia County Democrats, he went back to school, graduating magna cum laude from Albany Law School. Ken also worked in the Governor’s Office of Regulatory Reform and with the Democratic Counsel in the State Senate, which gave Ken direct insight into the problems we face and what can be done to fix them. Ken lives in Mellenville with his wife, Betsy, and baby daughter, Ellie.
