ILLEGAL ALIENS
We play by the rules, and expect others to do the same!
Many, if not most, of us have parents, grandparents, and/or other family who have legally immigrated from other countries. They all had to have a financial sponsor

and file the appropriate paperwork, and then wait patiently, many times for up to ten years. It is unfair to all of us when illegal aliens refuse to follow the rules, and then take taxpayer-subsidized healthcare and other welfare handouts, when our law-abiding families and neighbors have had to pay their own way.
REQUIRE all employers to use E-verify to check the immigration status of their employees
PENALIZE employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens, thereby taking advantage of a vulnerable population and gaining an unfair advantage over honest employers who obey the law
DO NOT ALLOW any welfare, RIte Care, or other handouts for illegal aliens.
Rhode Island citizens and lawful immigrants are paying over $440 million for services given away free to illegal aliens!
This one problem negatively affects our:

FAIR TAXES
DON'T tax our cars! Remove this tax which unfairly punishes those least able to afford it
LIMIT welfare, RIte Care, and any other handouts to the very small minority of citizens who are truly "needy"
AUDIT all payments from state coffers to AVOID WASTE AND FRAUD, focusing especially on Medicaid and other medical reimbursements. CRACK DOWN on all phony disability claims.
We CAN'T expect to deal with the ILLEGAL ALIEN problem without also stopping "home-grown" FRAUD at the same time...we oppose ALL forms of cheating and other crimes against our good neighbors!
Remember: It's OUR money!

Why are legislators allowed to vote on - and even SPONSOR! - bills that benefit them personally?
REMOVE the "class exemption" loophole in the Ethics Laws
ENERGY
Why did we get stuck with a NO-BID electricity contract which raises rates from 9 1/2 cents to
OVER 24 CENTS?
Does this make sense to you? By defying the Public Utilities Commission, a majority of our legislators have willingly put us in "DEEP WATER"!
STOP the DEEPWATER debacle!
HEALTHCARE
Why do FULL-TIME state workers pay up to 25% of their premiums, but PART-TIME politicians who show up 57 afternoons a year pay NOTHING?! (Or, at best, voluntarily "sacrifice" by paying only 10% - which is a mere $33 a week for a top-of-the-line $18,061 insurance package!)
REQUIRE part- time legislators to pay for AT LEAST 50% of their OWN healthcare insurance and ELIMINATE their $2,002 "waiver payment" (Think about it! Does YOUR employer pay you $2,000 every year if you decide NOT to enroll in YOUR benefits plan?!)
Why do lawful immigrants need to get financially sponsored

and swear under under penalty of law NOT to become "a ward of the state" (i.e., financially dependent on Rhode Island taxpayers!) in order to enter the United States, but illegal aliens raise our taxes by getting RIte Care for free?
