| Liz Johnson is a wife, mother, and community leader. Liz’s husband of 22 years, Kevin, is a manger for IBM. They have two beautiful daughters, Allison, a senior, and Meaghan, a freshman, both at Green Hope High School.
Prior to moving to Morrisville, Liz worked for IBM at a Marketing Branch Office in Syracuse, New York. Shortly after the birth of her second child, Liz decided to stay home to raise her children. At about the same time she began her new career as a Community Volunteer.
Moving to Morrisville meant moving closer to family. Kevin’s family has been in the Charlotte area for 24+ years and Liz’s family has been in the Triangle for 16+ years.
Liz first became actively involved in the Town of Morrisville as a concerned citizen. In 1998 Liz applied for the Town of Morrisville Planning and Zoning Board and was appointed as an alternate to the Board. One year later, in 1999, Liz decided to run for an elected office. On November 2, 1999, in a race with two other opponents, Liz received a majority of the vote to win the District 3 Commissioner seat. Liz was sworn into office on December 13, 1999. Liz ran for her second term in office and was re-elected on November 4, 2003.
During her two terms as Town of Morrisville Commissioner, Liz has exhibited a work ethic that ensures every action and decision she makes in done with integrity. Her ability to take ownership and get the job done, acknowledgement of others contributions, and personal sacrifices have made her a true leader for Morrisville. Liz’s leadership has enabled her to do what is right for Morrisville.
