During the 2006 Election and in every election, polls always show a remarkable number of misinformed voters heading into the voting booths. Voters pick somebody because he or she are in the same political party or have seen campaign signs along the roadsides, but in most cases voters do not make an objective choice.
There is a wave of bad decisions as voters choose candidates without a clue of who they are voting for or candidates who have no clue of why they are running for office.
In this case there is an incumbent that has no clue of why he is in office. As a registered voter I see a problem with Albert Hale continuing to serve in the Arizona State Senate as a representative of District 2.
Albert Hale's poor attendance record and below than average voting record in the State Senate clearly shows he is not representing the people of District 2. As a matter of fact, Albert Hale skipped so many votes it is a wonder why he is even in office.
Given another chance in politics, after his debacle as the Navajo Nation president, he still continues to not be held accountable for his actions. Albert Hale may deserve another chance, but not in this elected office. So many people depend on a representative that is not in office to "ride the coattails" of fellow legislators.
If voters keep blindly choosing their representatives, the nod will continue to go to the lawyers who take credit for lobbying and passing initiatives when, in fact, the whole process involved dozens of other legislators, in which Albert Hale has been lucky enough to be a part of.
The bottom line is that in crucial elections, indecisive voters have a bad habit of not gathering facts or observable evidence and just going with a name. The indecisive
voter pays no attention or takes the time to become informed about the candidate's stances on issues that need to be addressed and resolved.
The people of District 2 deserve a representative for the people and an approachable State Senator in Mr. Royce Jenkins.
