DA Morganelli - Labor's Choice

John Morganelli comes from a hard-working, blue collar, ethnic family. John's paternal grandparents came from Italy. His grandfather, Angelo Morganelli, was a shoemaker and later worked for P.B.& N.E. Railroad. John's maternal grandparents were Irish. His maternal grandfather, Owen McFadden, worked at the iron foundry at Bethlehem Steel. His grandmothers were homemakers.

John's father, John A. Morganelli , worked as a laborer affiliated with the A.F.of L. Later he worked at Bethlehem Steel where he became a member of the C.I.O. He eventually worked as an oiler in the Operating Engineers Union, Local #542 of Eastern Pennsylvania. Upon retiring from construction work, he worked for the Bethlehem Housing Authority where he was a member of the Teamster's Union.

John's mother, Marguerite Morganelli, worked at Berkron's Manufacturing and Gamet Inc as a sewing machine operator. She was a member of the ILGWU.

John was taught early the importance of hard work and education. He was the first in his family to attend college. While working his way through college, he did many jobs including concrete work, running a jackhammer, and paving highways.

As a practicing attorney, John represented working people who were injured on the job and was the attorney for the Bethlehem Corporation Employees Union.

As a candidate for public office, John has received support from organized labor including : ILGWU, Easton District, Operating Engineers Local #542, United Steelworkers of America, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1776, Carpenters Union of Philadelphia & Vicinity, PSEA, UNITE, Iron Workers Local 36,Painters, Boilermakers, Steamfitters, Cement Masons, and Sheet Metal Workers, Local 19.
