2.

How can I get information on a bill in the Legislature?

Go to the Maryland General Assembly web page, http://mlis.state.md.us/.

If you know a bill number, click on Bill Information and Status.  Enter the bill number (HB1 for House Bill 1, SB1 for Senate Bill 1, HJ1 for House Joint Resolution 1, SJ1 for Senate Joint Resolution, etc.) and click on Submit Query.  To read the bill, click on the bill number at the top of the page, or Click on Documents, which will take you to a section of the page where you can select the version of the bill you want to see (First Reading, Third Reading, Enrolled).

If you know the subject of a bill, but don't know it's number, on the Maryland General Assembly web page click on Bill Indexes and Profiles.  Click on One or Two Subjects, select one or two subjects, and click on Select.  This will take you to a list of bills on that subject.  Click on the bill number to go to the page for that bill.
