"$20,568 is not enough (trustee salary) for some of the headaches that go on around here." Barb Weidenbien is quoted as saying in the Cincinnati Enquirer on 8-19-2008. As a current trustee of Pierce Township, I am very disturbed by this statement. Where is her concern for the taxpayers of Union Township who she asked to "RE"elect her two and a half years ago? What has being an elected official become? Is $20,568 enough? Or is it about Ego or Greed?

She talks about the "headaches" of the job. What has been reported and talked about are the headaches she helped to create. She hired Doug Walker without administrative credentials to run the day to day operations of the township. She gave him an inflated contract that will cost the tax payers, even after he is no longe working for the township, close to $200,000. She talked down to a township citizen at public meetings telling him to sit down and shut up because he didn't know what he was talking about. (For the record, the citizen was proven right by the Ohio State Auditor)

In November she is again asking to be "RE"elected as she did before as trustee. This time it is for the Clerk of Courts. She says that this position is a separate issue. Hasn't she already defined herself as a public servant and elected official with her actions in Union Township? Will she show the same disregard for the elected office of Clerk?

I know what it takes to be an elected official. My name is Gregg Conrad and I have served as a trustee for 5 years. We too could have had the same headaches as Union Township if a stand had not been taken 6 years ago to return our township to its citzens. "$20,568 is enough to be trustee." said Gregg Conrad
