About Cliff...

Cliff Fields comes from a long line of Nevadans.  His family is from Elko and goes back generations.  Cliff is different from his father and grandfather, in that while he wasn’t born in Nevada, he chose to move his family back to Nevada for the quality of life and to raise his children here.

Cliff earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics in 1982 and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management in 2001.

Cliff met his wife Jamie at the community center in Carson City while playing volleyball.  They were married in Reno in 1984.  Jamie has been involved with the mortgage business since before they were married.  She took several years off when the children were younger, but currently works as a wholesale mortgage representative here in Las Vegas. Cliff and his wife have two children, ages 19 and 16.

Jacobi, Cliff’s daughter just compled her sophomore year at UNLV and is majoring in political science.  Chase, Cliff’s son is just completing his sophomore year at Palo Verde High School and is a member of the school’s marching band.

Cliff began his career in the restaurant business in Reno where he learned the value of hard work and long hours.   Shortly after being married he accepted a position with a Finance Company in Carson City.  That career decision resulted in several major cross-country moves and a wealth of experiences and opportunities.  Cliff made the transition from finance to human resources during this time period.

Cliff moved his family back to Nevada in 1996 to be closer to family and accepted a position with Clark County in the Human Resources Department.  He is currently employed as a principal management analyst in Department of Parks and Recreation where he coordinates human resources activities for management and staff.

Cliff is a member of the International Personnel Management Association and the Society for Human Resource Management.

Cliff serves as a Director on the Canyon Oaks Homeowners Association Board and is the community’s delegate to the Summerlin North Homeowners Association.

Cliff has completed the Clark County Leadership Forum Program and will graduate this June.

Cliff is an active community volunteer.
