I am running for San Diego City Council District 5 because I want to improve our quality of life from our neighborhoods to our City as a whole and make sure that our tax dollars are spent where they should be.

I will protect our neighborhoods. 

·         Make fire, police and rescue services a top priority on the council.  We must be better prepared for disasters like the 2003 and 2007 fires.

·         Ensure that we consistently fund our streets, water, sewer and other infrastructure needs.

·         Develop a better plan for managing traffic problems.

·         Provide more transportation alternatives, especially for our older residents.

I will ensure that our tax investment in the City is wisely managed. 

·         I have a proven track record managing more than 1,000 employees and balancing a million dollar government budget. 

·         I will work to build up the city’s reserves and stop balancing our budget with “one time” funding.

I will not make promises I cannot keep. I am committed to public service and will represent our district honorably.

I have protected our neighborhoods as your firefighter and will protect them as your Councilmember. I ask for your vote on June 3, 2008.
