On Jan. 2, 2010, at 5:00, the ICRC met at Baci Italian Ristorante, in Plainfield. We heard speeches from a U.S. Senate candidate, Kathy Thomas; a congressional candidate, in the 8th Dist., Greg Jacobs; and a comptroller candidate, Jim Dodge.
The ICRC held a meeting, on Dec. 5, at Aurelio's Pizza, in Plainfield. We heard speeches from two U.S. Senate candidates, Pat Hughes and Don Lowery; a comptroller candidate, William Kelly; a U.S. House candidate, Dave McAloon, of the 11th District; and a state rep. candidate, Paul Mitchell, of the 62nd District.
The steering committee members, who were present, agreed that surveys should be sent to candidates, so that we can decide whom to endorse and/or help with donations.
The steering committee has four vacancies, and the chairman, Jon Zahm, said that, in Dec., he'll email the other members, to nominate four people, to fill those vacancies.
Our Organization truly represents the values of the majority of Illinoisians and we look forward to sharing our message of conservative beliefs and commonsense principles with the citizens of this state.
Many people around the state believe that our tough job ended in November, but another campaign awaits us—Campaign 2010, our consolidated push to build a Republican majority. Campaign 2010 will focus on one goal—assembling one of the best grassroots structures in the country. You will be hearing and reading more about Campaign 2010 in the coming weeks.
We, as a Organization, should not only be participants in the debate, we should drive the debate by being participants in the process.
Once the Organization- from the Steering Committee to the dedicated activists to the selfless volunteers who dedicate an hour of their week in service - comes together under this common goal, we will change the face of this state and nation forever.
On Saturday, July 25, 2009, The Illinois Center Right Coalition held their Annual Convention at the beautiful Hilton Gardens Hotel in Springfield , Illinois . TV Personality William Kelly, host and executive producer of the TV series, “Sportsaholic” and the Emmy award-winning “Upscale TV,” which just completed a successful three-year term on FOX, gave an outstanding speech about the “perfect storm” that could help defeat the liberal agenda in 2010.
In addition, Mr. Kelly made the exciting announcement that he is running for Illinois State Comptroller to replace Dan Hynes.
Kelly is no stranger to Illinois politics and was previously the Executive Director of the National Taxpayers Union of Illinois. He currently oversees a non-profit reform organization, Rebuildillinois.com and has a history of anti-tax and anti-government waste activism, which was the subject of the National Review article, “Rebel with a Cause.”
Three new members were elected to the steering committee, Jennifer Brower, Evert Evertson, and Carl Segvich. During officer elections, we elected a new chairman, Jon Zahm; a new vice-chairman, Andy White; a new execuitve director, Phil Collins; and a new secretary, Liz Eilers.
Some of the attendees of the convention included:
