WHAT IT MEANS TO JOIN THE ICRC

When you sign up as a member of the Illinois Center Right Coalition (ICRC), you will be joining a broad alliance of individuals and organizations who share your conservative values. These core values are delineated in our Platform.

In coming together to form the ICRC, its members have pledged to work toward those common ideals by:

  • educating citizens regarding public policy and its impact;
  • coordinating grassroots activities around issues of common concern;
  • encouraging like-minded citizens to become active in public life;
  • demanding accountability from our government and our elected officials;
  • recruiting and supporting good candidates for public office; and by
  • taking a leadership role in advancing conservative values through sound public policy.

    ICRC members have a stronger voice in the public policy process because it is a united voice. Yet in acknowledgement of differences of opinions and points of view, members may participate as fully as they choose, agreeing to advance those causes endorsed by the ICRC to which they do not object.

    When you sign up as a member of the ICRC, you will be joining a group of hard-working individuals and organizations with a desire to coordinate their efforts and to work together to promote policies and laws that reflect the values and desires of the mainstream citizens in Illinois. Your name will be added to the coalition’s distribution list so that you will receive ongoing informational notices and action alerts. Each member also has a vote in selecting the Steering Committee that will have day-to-day leadership in directing the activities of the coalition. You will be asked to undertake grassroots activities on behalf of the ICRC, which may include:
  • Writing letters to legislators, particularly at critical times in the legislative process
  • Writing letters to the editor
  • Authoring opinion editorials to be placed in newspapers and journals
  • Placing an article in your organization’s newsletter
  • Speaking at local events
  • Participating in editorial board meetings

    Thank you for your interest in the ICRC. We hope you will join us as we strive to make government in Illinois more responsive to our concerns and more representative of the values of the citizens that it serves.
