Duties: The Duties of each regular Committeeman are as follows:
A. MANDATORY ACTIVITIES
1. Inform all Republican voters in the precinct of the times, dates and poling places for Primary and General Elections.
2. Distribute campaign and informative literature provided by Republican Candidates and/or Republican organizations to all Republican voters in the precinct.
3. Advise all Republican voters in the precinct of the Committeeman’s recommended candidates, if any, in Primary elections.
4. Support the Republican candidates in General Elections and recommend them to all Republican voters in the precinct.
5. Register Republican voters in the precinct.
6. Recruit 3 regular and 3 alternate election judges in the precinct.
7. Regularly attend meetings of this organization.
B. RECOMMENDED ACTIVITIES
1. Inform, distribute literature to and advise the “independent” or uncommitted voters in the precinct as in A.1-4, above.
2. Participate in one or more of the standing or ad hoc committees.
3. Participate in good-will and public relations activities such as 4th of July Parade Float, County Fair Republican Booth, voter registration drives, etc.
4. Participate in fundraising activities such as “Oktoberfest”, Lincoln Day and Republican Day by volunteering to work, paid attendance and advertising.
5. Participate as coordinators and volunteers for the Republican candidates of your choice.
C. PERMITTED ACTIVITIES
Inform, distribute literature to and advise “Democrat” voters in the precinct as in A. 1-4, above, in an effort to foster good will and encourage conversion to Republican ideals.

The grass roots and foundation of the political parties are its precinct committeemen. They serve as the foot soldiers to the most fundamental political unit of government, the precinct. The precinct committeeman helps shape party policy and participates in the selection process of candidates. A precinct committeeman is elected to a two-year term in the even-year primary elections.
Expectations of a precinct committeeman:
- Represent the party's voters at the county central committee convention to elect the county central chairman and its officers. The precinct committeeman casts a total number of party votes, (weighted vote), as cast in the precinct at the recent primary election
- Attend and become involved in the party's Township meetings
- Become a voter registrar and register all qualified constituents
- Appoint and fill vacancies of election judges for the precinct polling place
- Provide candidate and election information to the voters
- Circulate petitions for candidates prior to the primary election
- Become familiar with the elected officials and legislatures so the concerns of the voters can be passed on to them
