The legislative committee will be responsible for tracking bills in the current legislative session here in Nevada, as well as federal legislation, of interest to the membership. We'll report on pending legislation to members of DCRCC, and communicate the need to contact the legislature when hearings or votes are coming up on these bills.
This committee gives the central committee a system to be able to support James Settelmeyer and Senator Amodei as well as Sue Lowden and the state party when they ask for help or grassroots action. It also lets us provide input to Heller, Ensign and Reid at the federal level as needed.
We'll need members of the committee to help in the following areas:
1) Tracking bills and watching for upcoming hearings and votes
2) Sending emails, faxes, and/or making phone calls to legislators to communicate DCRCC's position
3) Attending hearings as needed to present information to legislators
