| New Primary System Proposed |
| Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert has backed a plan to fix the MESS that we've had this year in the primaries. As I understand it there would be four regional primaries for four months in a row which would be rotated for the next election cycle. Iowa and New Hampshire would be allowed to have their primaries BEFORE the four regions voted.
Although this isn't entirely fair it's probably the only workable solution for now. What a mess the last primary season was for both the Republicans and the Democrats. This would hopefully end the craziness of the states trying to prempt other states and causing primaries to go back to the Christmas holidays. This is not helpful to the process.
Just an aside. Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert is a great asset to our state. When Gov. Huntsman retires or aspires to higher office I hope Gary will seek the governer's office. He would be terrific!!
