An open letter to the residents of the 58th District:

I'm running for State Representative because I believe
we can and must do better for our kids, and like you,
I watch everyday with amazement and shame as our
current Governor and Legislative leaders plunder the
state's coffers and mortgage the future of this state
for short-term political gain.  I am running for State
Representative because the only way for things to get
better is to elect lawmakers who have the courage to
stand up to the politicians in Springfield and say
"enough-is-enough".

Haven't Karen May and Rod Blagojevich had enough time
to fix the problems our state is facing?

I will fight for the interests of our District, not the
special interests in Springfield. Rod Blagojevich,
and my opponent are proponents of the
largest tax and fee hikes in the history of the State
of Illinois. These hikes have resulted in a loss of jobs and
investment in Illinois.

Vacant factories and storefronts do not help the economy
of the State—Vibrant successful businesses do--and
that is why I propose cutting red tape and making it
easier for entrepreneurs and small businesses to
succeed in Illinois.

When people have good jobs they can better afford healthcare
and education and the State wins!

Our District is home to some of the best public schools
in the state, if not nation. We need to protect these
valuable assets and ensure the future of our children.
Funding for Illinois schools has increased each and every
year but we are still failing our kids.  Why? I wnat to pay
our educators the salary they deserve.  I want good teacher's in the
classroom doing their life's work.  We can afford to pay
teacher's a good wage and provide for a needed increase
if we cut the non-productive spending and waste that is
taking place in our education system.

This starts with addressing the problem of unfunded
mandates that sucks the cash out of our system.  There
is a better way and we must do more to equip our teacher's
with the tools they need to be successful.  I have spent
my career working with school districts across
Illinois to help them achieve financial success and I
will work hard in Springfield to do the same.

With your help, we can make Illinois competitive again.
We can provide our residents with the means
to be successful.  We can improve our environment.
We can improve education and make it more accessible
and affordable.  We can cut red tape and bureaucracy—
because the people of this state can be successful—
they just need to have the freedom to do so.
We can have true and lasting reform in state
government.

Sincerely,
Tim
