Your Help is Needed!

HB 3007, the Random Drug Testing of Welfare, Food Stamps, and Unemployment Recipients Bill, is Being Held Up in the House Judiciary Committee - With Your Help the Bill Can Pass!

Below is a message from Delegate Craig Blair.  He needs your help to get House Bill 3007, the Random Drug Testing of Welfare, Food Stamps, and Unemployment Recipients Bill, passed.

Contact Chairwoman Carrie Webster today and ask her to put HB 3007 on the Judiciary Committee Agenda!

Dear West Virginia Taxpayer,

I'll get straight to the point. I need your help!

It is with a heavy heart that I must report that Chairperson Carrie Webster believes that there is not enough public support to take up and consider House Bill 3007, the Random Drug Testing of Welfare, Food Stamps and Unemployment Recipients bill. In a recent article, she stated, "her office had not received no calls or e-mails on the issue". In the same article she stated, "If it is really bad public policy, my job is as the gatekeeper".

This bill is not bad public policy!

I have tried to be considerate and patient with the Judiciary Committee chair. I have sent two (2) letters and one (1) unreturned phone call. (Click Here to view letter1 and click here to view letter2) And, all to no avail.

I believe now is the time to let her know how you feel! Since Chairperson Webster thinks there's not enough public support for this legislation, I'm asking you to e-mail and call her office and voice your support. I've had over 2000 positive e-mails and she really needs to hear your voice, your thoughts and your dissatisfaction.

Here's her contact information:
